Crafting one-of-a-kind logos, icons & typography is one of my favorite aspects of being a designer.  I am always excited by an opportunity to work on a branding or identity project, and I love the challenge of wrapping my head around a direction, doing the research, and exciting a meaningful design. Below are a few examples of some of my favorite branding, logo, icon & typography projects over the past few years.

Canvas MX

Canvas MX was started by professional motocross racer, Michael Leib with the idea of letting riders design their own custom gear rather than wear the logo of a gear company. Recent;y the team at Canvas MX asked if I would be interested in updating their brand with a new logomark. The goal was to create a bold and clean mark, and incorporate a square into the design to represent the idea of a blank canvas.

Logo Applications

This logo is compact and bold and works well across a broad spectrum of applications including moto gear, casual apparel, website, social media and marketing collateral.

Henep CBD

HENEP was founded on the belief that the hemp industry can truly help our world. I was commissioned to design some branding that was bold, clean and modern to bring an element of sophistication to this CBD startup.

Packaging

Once the branding was complete we moved on to design some packaging for their initial run of products. The crew wanted to maintain the clean style and sophisticated approach we took on the branding and the result is a collection of cohesive and well-branded products.

The Dreamers

The Dreamers is an award winning full service creative production house hailing from Gold Coast, Australia specializing in innovative advertising, branded content, music videos, documentaries & exciting visual projects. The crew was ready to bring some new life to their agency so they hired me to do  a full rebrand for them.

DREAMERS ICON

The Dreamers wanted their branding to be bold and energetic but also simple and timeless to work across a broad spectrum of applications for years to come. This was accomplished through impactful typography, strong colors and integrating a lightning bolt into the icon to represent the company's explosive creative energy.

Athlete Branding & Identity

Some of the most exciting projects I've had while working in the Moto industry has been the opportunity to create personal branding for select professional Supercross athletes including the likes of Ryan Villopoto, Adam Cianciarulo and Jake Weimer to name a few.

RYAN VILLOPOTO

When DC Shoes tasked me with designing some branding for the 3X Motocross and 4X Supercross champion, Ryan Villopoto I was so excited.  I've admired Ryan's riding for over a decade and to have the opportunity to work with him on designing his personal branding for DC Shoes was thrilling.

The final logo design resulted in his initials "RV" with  a backwards "R" to mirror the shape of the "V" and create a feeling of symmetry.  Ryan's nickname is RV2 so I wanted to incorporate his number by integrating a subtle roman numeral "II" in the center of his initials.

Adam Cianciarulo

Adam Cianciarulo's branding for DC Shoes was such a pleasure to work on.  Combining his initials into an easily legible monogram I wanted to focus on boldness and balance. The "A" is larger than the "C" to establish hierarchy and ensure the monogram reads "AC "rather than "CA".  The Large A also provides symmetry to the design and creates a nice space at the bottom for the DC logo to tuck into in certain applications.

JAKE WEIMER

In 2012 Jake Weimer joined the Answer Racing team and I was assigned the task of designing a wordmark to serve as his personal logo as well his identity for jersey transfers. The typography needed to compliment Answer's existing jersey transfer numbers so I made sure to reference the bold, square edged nature of the font being used.  My main goal was to incorporate the  number (12) into this word mark which was a bit of a challenge.

VURBMOTO SUPERCROSS ICONS

In 2014 Vurbmoto hired me to design an icon for each round of the 2014 Supercross series.  Taking inspiration from each city was a fun exercise and I love designing icons so the was a really fun project.
